It was a gorgeous day, and my son was visiting from out of town, so we decided to ride Anderson Ferry. It was the first time either one of us took this delightful ride across the Ohio River and back. The captain and the staff were so friendly. We walked on for a round trip, costing $1.00 each. Best bang for your entertainment buck and a good way to cool off on a hot day.

Always a fun and less stressful way to cross the river.

I love taking the ferry across. It almost feels like you are level with the river. The fact that the ferry has been in operation since 1817 blows my mind. And as a girl from Texas....this makes crossing the Ohio on the ferry older than the State of Texas.

Avoid the freeway and take a ride on technology from 200 years ago. Drive up, pay the $5 fare (10 pass is $40) and glide effortlessly across to the other side. We had a slight delay as a barge passed between the two points, but the adventure is worth it. Water was super calm so don't worry about sea sickness.

My parents instilled the love of taking a step back in time and crossing the Ohio River on the Anderson Ferry. Still my favorite way to head to Ohio from Northern Kentucky. 🥰 …

LOVE this ferry! I have only road the small red one a few times back in my childhood during a thunderstorm and i think ab it all the time. Im constantly going to Florence and this helps me avoid that highway's dangerous entrace ramp. My friends always look forward to it. I feel bad that i sometimes give all coins, i forget cash sometimes :')

Quickier, easier, and way more fun than taking 75 or 275 if you live on the west side. They take credit cards now but still easier if you have $5 to pay cash.

Last minute decision to avoid a major back up from the airport on 275 E during Friday rush hour. Picked up relatives, detoured to the ferry and enjoyed the scenic route. For $5, best idea I've had in a long time. So glad they are around!!!!
